About
The Butcher Press is a design and print workshop specializing in limited edition screen printed artwork. It is owned and operated by Katy Yeaw – a Pennsylvania native who now calls San Diego, California her home.
Katy earned a degree in fine arts at Juniata College in PA, and was introduced to printmaking while spending a year at Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. Postgraduate work at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland solidified her love of printing.
Soon after, she found herself working under master printer Jean-Paul Russell at Durham Press- a renowned fine art print shop in Bucks County, PA. In her off hours, she started screen printing posters for local Philadelphia bands, which eventually evolved into printing small editions of her hand-drawn illustrations.
Katy also enjoys incorporating her illustration into graphic design and has created artwork for posters, street signs, stationary, stickers, album art, and more. Her style is simple, clean and vibrant.
Feel Free to contact her to discuss any ideas or projects. In the meantime, visit the Butcher Press Blog to stay up to date on new prints and upcoming events.

Why “Butcher Press”?
The Butcher is one of the first prints I ever made. I still love it. It’s an etching with chine colle and it hangs in my living room.
